I’ve been MIA for the past two weeks. Its been a little hectic with my sisters wedding and family. I haven’t really had all that much time to train but I got in as many runs as I could to maintain my fitness until Saturday.
Today was the last workout before the marathon. I can’t believe it’s here! The feelings are welling up inside. I even had a dream last night that I was running the marathon and I NEVER have dreams. Thats saying something. I can’t believe I’ve embarked on this journey just a little over four months ago and its now coming to a close. The training is done, the work is in the past, it all comes down to race day now.
This last week is all about preparation. Today I went to the chiropractor for the first time ever to straighten me up. Ive had back pain and neck pain for a while now and I thought if I can fix it up a bit it might help my performance. The hip pain I’ve had has lessened significantly since I fixed up my running form. I no longer am sore in the calves and I run basically pain free. I wish I would’ve figured this out from the beginning but you live and you learn I suppose.
The chiropractor was amazing, my neck no longer has pain and my back is straighter than it was a year ago. Tomorrow I’m packing in the morning and getting everything together because on Friday I’m heading out to the hotel to check in and visit the expo put on by the run. I need to grab my bib, and final instructions for race day and make a plan for my friends to be there at the rest stops along the course. I’m so glad they are gonna be there.
Well this the last post about training before the marathon. I just want to thank everyone who read along and kept up with the posts and for being patient these last two weeks. I hope to write about the marathon next week and share my experience and my time and goals for the next season because you know I’m not stopping here. Thank you for the support. God bless!
